Professional and lay volunteers from our community staff the clinic on Monday and Thursday nights. Volunteer opportunities exist on our Faith & Care Ministry Team, Administrative Ministry Team, and Medical Ministry Team.

Medical Ministry Team

Health Care Provider: provide health care expertise; document treatment, order referrals & medications; follow Good Shepherd Clinic’s medication formulary guidelines.

Nurse: obtain & record vital signs, medications, allergies and patient complaint information; assist provider with test orders and referrals; file lab results.

Pharmacist: document medications; issue prescription vouchers; follow Good Shepherd’s Prescribing Guidelines. *Current licenses are required for all medical team volunteers (health care providers and pharmacists)

Medical Ministry Team Priority

Clinic Faith & Care Ministry Team

Patient Screeners: welcome & sign-in patients; issue & gather screening forms; assist with patient flow.

Hospitality: create a safe & welcoming environment; set out refreshments; clean-up.

Prayer Ministry: listen, encourage and minister in the name of Jesus; pray with patients; refer to other resources.

Facility & Exam Room Management: set up exam rooms and clinic stations per floor plan.

Administrative Ministry Team

Eligibility Advocate: determine & verify eligibility through interview process; advocate & direct patients to additional resources.

Patient Flow: direct patients to eligibility, nurses, providers, counselors & pharmacist.

Medical Records: create, pull, organize, & file charts; record medical statistics.

Dental Scribe: document dentist/patient visit into computer, forward referral to dental office.
